2014 Crochet Along
It’s time!
I’m incredibly behind on my 2013 Block-a-Month Crochet-Along (BAMCAL). I was doing great up until about June, and after then, I just have squares here and there that I managed to fit in. But no matter! Just like the new year, the new BAMCAL is filled with new beginnings. And while I do intend to eventually catch up with this year’s, there’s nothing like a fresh start, a new project, and a great group of people to crochet with.
And since it’s an open group, join in if you haven’t already! You need to be a Ravelry member (registration is free), and then go to the upper right hand corner of the 2014 Block-a-Month Crochet Along’s group and press “Join this group”. There are no deadlines, rules, or commitments, all you need to do is join in when you can and when you want to.
I finally decided on my colors of the upcoming BAMCAL too. And I may be just a little bit overly ambitious. I’m coming up to another Christmas right now with family members who have been ogling my crochet afghans, and I’m out of time to make them one. But it got me thinking – why not use the BAMCAL to make a couple of them, and that way it’ll be spread out over the year. And hopefully by the time Christmas comes next year, I won’t be running around, crocheting like crazy trying to get last minute gifts together. So I’ve gathered yarns in the favorite colors of my mother (all shades of purple) and my sister (jewel tones). I think it’s going to look pretty good.
Anyway, in the meantime, I am slowly trying to catch up with the 2013 squares. Here are two of the December squares that I’ve finished, the New Year’s Eve square and the 6” Christmas Granny, both are free.
I’ve got a lot of catching up to do in preparing for the new year, both crochet and otherwise, so I’m going to get a head start on my (hopefully productive) day. Have a great Monday!

Yay, so glad you’re joining in! I’m MamaMellie on Ravelry, I’ll look for you :)
